Matthew 6:25-34: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
God knows what I need
I know I want companionship and often times I feel really lonely but in those times I need to look for God. I need to go into His word and and find fulfillment in Him. God will give me my hearts desires if I look for Him first. I’d rather wait for God to give me what is meant to be mine. If I go out and search for a companion of my own I could end up in a horrible situation. I don’t know a person as well as God does. Only God knows a person’s heart and He knows who’s heart is right for me.
I will find my joy in the Lord. I will find my peace with Him. I’ll find my companionship with Him. It’s not easy but I know I have a sense of peace and reassurance when I read the Bible and learn about God.
It is not easy.
Patience is key when it comes to situations like this. I know that all things are working for my good and if it hasn’t happened yet it means that it isn’t time for it. God knows better than I do and I need to trust in Him, have faith and patience.

Prayer
You are an all-knowing, and an awesome God and you never cease to amaze me. Though sometimes I may doubt that I deserve Your love and kindness, I will forever be grateful that You’ve extended it to me. I don’t know why You love me and why You care for me so much but I’m thankful and I know there’s nothing I can do to repay the debt You paid for my life, for my salvation.
Because You’re an all-knowing and powerful God, I know that I can trust You. I know that my life is in the best possible hands. Only You can do unimaginable things with my life because of who You are. And because of that I’ll trust You. I’m still learning to let go and let You do what You do best but I’m making a conscious effort to do so. I’m learning to have faith in You. I’m seeking You first. I’m delighting myself in You. And Your word said if I do so, You’ll give me the desires of my heart. I want to live a life that makes You happy. I thank You in advance for my help-mate and I thank You for the preparation.
I pray that You continue to guide me and lead me to You. Draw me closer to You. Guide me towards a life that brings glory to Your name. I want Your will above my own and I’m learning that’s what love is.
You’re an awesome and amazing God. I wouldn’t be where I am without you. And I love You, not because of what You’ve done for me but because of who You are. You’re kindhearted, generous, patient, considerate, mighty and a million wonderful things. My words can’t explain how great You are (I finally get that now).
Thank You for being who you are.
Your grateful daughter,
Jessica
